Matt and I don't do DIY as much as we would like to do it. Simply because we don't want to kill ourselves to save a few quids and plus Matt thinks we should get things done professionally.
Fuse in the security camera in the garden went dead a few months ago. I couldn't unscrew the screws to change the fuse. (durhh,,,) then Matt came out with a better solution that we should actually change the unit itself as they are so old and rusty. Now it became from changing the fuse Job to electrician job as its plug is actually on the kitchen wall through the wall. It has been our agenda for a few weeks sporadically as it needed sorting. If only I had enough money to do everything I wish to do...
30mins. no charge...
A colleague of mine came around and did it there and then for me.
How many of you had drilled the holes in the house? How many of you actually put the shelves up? How many of you know how to connect electricity? How many of you know how to put a wall paper straight when the walls are not stright? How many of you actually know which type of screw plugs are for which type of walls? How many of you can lay the carpet down? How many of you can replace a bath tub?
Why is life such a struggle to me? This is why.

Since my job title was changed, I realised a lot of my work is to do with being diplomatic. It's not what you know, it' normally who you know and how you make others perceive yourself as.
Reading books used to be my escape to reality but I have not been ready to pick one up to read for a while. I picked up sons and lovers by D.H. Lawrence the other day but the tone of the writer threw me out. Is there any happy book to cheer me up at all? That's one of the reasons I am dragging matthew to watch the move, mamma mia next week.

dziękuję!
This trip to Poland was not preplanned at all. We didn't have any clue as to what to expect from their polish wedding or from their country. Well the only connection we had with poles was that Matt used to have school friends back home in Toronto when he grew up and the fact that I have a few colleagues from poland at work. That's about it.
As soon as we landed in the airport in Poland we were quickly whisked away by our friends and put into the prepaid hotel which we didn't even got out until the following afternoon for the wedding. Matt supplied a delicious home made sandwich to me the night before and the next morning. Guess matt's saving money plan worked. As for the wedding, well Maggie had everything that a bride could dream for her wedding. Maggie and Thomas walked down the isle of the most beautiful cathedral with background of music from choir and she even released a white dove and lots of flowers and kisses were given by guests. It lasted 45mins then 80 odd guests were put into the mini bus while bride and bridegroom were transferred into limousine to the reception area. Food?Oh my God, We kept being served maybe every 2hrs with diferrent foods also inbetween we had blindfold games and polish dance then cake cutting then some polish dances, inbetween though, vodka with another polish dance session, after that salution to the parents afterwards there was another polish dancetime. This reception? It literally lasted until 5 o'clock in the morning and it started again the next day till 6 o'clock in the evening. By midnight I must have chatted with everybody in the room including the young lad who drooled over me and made me feel that I was in the zoo by repeating that he has never seen a korean girl in his life. Well, in the meantime my darling matt managed to get himself totally drunk and started to dance incessantly, which made everybody talk about how rhythmically this drunken canadian guy managed to hold himself in balance.
Magdalena and Thomas were kind enough to show their town around the next day of their wedding. It is a very old town with character and history. They showed the bridge which alledgely was built in eggshells to start with, star shaped fortress on the hill, numerous underground tunnels that were used to transfer soliders at world war two. At one point we had to crawl on our hands and knees in the unlit, claustrophobic space which scared me a lot. It was an unforgetable trip with fantastic people around us and it really changed my conception about them and made me realise again what travelling can do to one another.
