pleasure of growing

Finally~ Seedlings came through the rough surface of the compost. This compost from Morrisons was so rough that I didn't think they would make it. but nature took me aback by suprise this time.

5 years back my first try was marigold. they got so big in the end I had to transplant them separately in the front garden. It continued to grow upto my waistline and I was sure of my green fingers.
But soon after killing the entire hanging basket ful of white flowers and my unfruitful defence against slugs' attack on my lettice patch, I stopped growing things. I just didn't want to be....a killer.

This time was out of my desperate try to keep the food costs down. Actually these are herbs. corianda, chives, basil & parsley. we used chives in mashed potatoes for the first time from our garden. I loved it. Now I am wondering if 50 bulbs of onions will come out all right in this August. All being well, I shall be having onion rice with corianda sprinkled curry!
